Explore what matters.
Discover what’s possible.
Life is complicated. Sometimes we find ourselves questioning our relationships, struggling to understand ourselves, or feel stuck.
Counseling offers a space to talk openly about your experiences, relationships, and the things weighing on you. Whether you're navigating life stressors, exploring past experiences, or trying to better understand yourself, our conversations begin with what matters to you. There's no expectation to have everything figured out.
Relationships
Our relationships can be a source of connection, belonging, confusion, and hurt. They can also shape how we understand ourselves.
Counseling provides space to explore your relationships with partners, family, friends, and others. Together, we can look at your experiences with communication, trust, boundaries, emotional intimacy, and the patterns that emerge in your relationships.
Support & Connection
Sometimes, what we need most is a place where we can talk openly and feel understood.
Whether you're navigating something difficult, feeling disconnected, or simply looking for someone to talk to, counseling offers a supportive relationship where your experiences are met with compassion and respect.
Self-Understanding
We don't always understand why we feel the way we do, respond to certain situations, or find ourselves returning to familiar experiences.
Counseling offers an opportunity to explore your emotions, identity, personal values, and the experiences that have shaped you. There's no predetermined destination. The process begins with curiosity about who you are and what matters to you.
What does counseling look like"?
Counseling starts with a conversation. You don't need to have everything figured out or know exactly what to talk about.
Our time together is an opportunity to explore your experiences, relationships, and whatever feels important to you. I'll listen, ask questions, and offer perspectives along the way.
There's no single way counseling is supposed to look. We'll begin wherever you are and explore from there.
About me
DB Nahalea, LPC
My Experience
My background includes community mental health, substance-use treatment, private practice, and teaching psychology at the university level. Those experiences shape an approach that combines evidence-informed practice with curiosity about each person's individual story.
I believe many of the struggles we experience make more sense when we understand where they came from. Our relationships, families, experiences, culture, and environments all influence how we learn to navigate the world.
This is not about “fixing” a problem, but rather understanding your story, recognizing your strengths and exploring ways of living that reflect your values.
